Princesses in an English Castle

Journey to a beautiful and mysterious 16th century castle in England with these breathtaking photographs from Leona Boyd Photography! Her princesses, wearing their stunning Alora Safari gowns, almost take us back in time to when royalty really walked among the gardens! With Leona’s ability to capture their timeless beauty, and the incredible scenery of Thornbury Castle, this styled session is one you won’t soon forget….

From the photographer: “What little girl doesn’t like castles and princesses and fairy tales? When the opportunity to go to England with my husband for business came up, he suggested I do my photography there. Wow, what an opportunity. But my goodness, what about models? What about equipment? What about a castle and dresses? I did a FB post to find models in that area and was taken aback by the response. I set out for 2 models and ended up with 6 girls! (Oh no, what have I gotten myself into?) So searched for a designer and chose Alora Safari, and let me say she was wonderful to work with! Two of the beautiful girls were specifically chosen for the castle shoot, and I picked a 12-foot long gown as one of those dresses (which was absolutely unbelievable). The other was an amazing wedding-type dress with tons of tooling and lace! And oh, the setting itself was incredible. We stayed at Thornbury Castle in Gloucestershire for the shoot, a 16th century castle that was a dream come true. Once Henry the VIII stayed there with his new bride Anne Boleyn after he cut off the head of the previous owner. (Of course, he would eventually do that to his bride, too.) The first evening we had the most magnificent lighting but the next morning it was literally straight out of a fairy tale. This whole shoot was an absolute dream come true for any photographer, and it will always be a magical princess memory.
