Candace and Roshan’s Pre-Wedding Session at Georgia Tech

Sheena Shahangian Photography captured Candace and Roshan right before their big day and we love what she had to say about this beautiful couple…

“Candace and Roshan met during their first year studying at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. He had come all the way from Malaysia to study aerospace engineering in the United States. She grew up in Atlanta and was studying architecture. Over the course of their time in college, the two of them fell in love and eventually got engaged (Roshan actually proposed on the rooftop of one of the buildings on campus!).

With Candace being an architect, it only seemed fitting to have their pre-wedding photos taken in the architecture building — a place where Candace had spent many an hour working hard toward her Masters. The building itself is from the 1930’s and has recently been renovated by the school, and includes so many cool features like a spiral staircase with a webbing surround (which ended up being one of our favorite spots to snap some photos). They wanted to have images that showed off their fun and playful personalities, and also embraced the Indian culture that’s an important part of Roshan’s life (while in college, Candace actually joined an Indian dance team, and you can see the two of them showing off their dance moves during the session, too!).

With both of them having very large families, they knew their wedding day would involve a lot of mingling with friends and family during the cocktail hour, reception, and throughout the day. So this session was a way for them to enjoy some private time together in their wedding clothes, without needing to worry about getting back to a room full of guests.”
